Slow Food Pop-up Brunch & Lunch – Saturday 7th June 2014

Sat. 7th June: Slow Food Popping up at the Farmers’Market

Bringing Slow Food Week to a close is something a little special at the Edinburgh Farmers Market on Saturday 7th June. Come and join Slow Food Edinburgh at Castle Terrace to celebrate Slow Food Week at their pop-up event to enjoy a local, seasonal brunch or lunch using market produce.

Brunch starts at 10.30am with our friends from the Edinburgh Larder Bistro. The menu includes smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, seasonal fruit and pastries, plus a glass of fizz. £10 for Slow Food members, £11 for non-members.

Lunch begins at 1pm with ‘Market Cornucopia,’ a platter of some of the best food from producers including Clyde Valley Tomatoes, Creelers and artisan bread. The main course will be lamb paired with a local beer. This will be followed by a seasonal dessert, then tea/coffee and chocolates made with ethically sourced cocoa.  Lunch costs £19 for Slow Food members and £21 for non-members, including one beer or non-alcoholic alternative.

We’ll be serving the food right there at the market, against the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. We have 12 places at our table for each sitting, so booking is essential. Ingredients will be sourced from the market and we’ll be joined for a few words by some of the producers. All surplus proceeds will go to support Slow Food Edinburgh and their work to support good, clean and fair food
